Paramount Global (PARA) may leverage a $20 million settlement to sway U.S. President Donald Trump's position on its protracted merger with Skydance Media. The media conglomerate faces a $20 billion lawsuit from Trump, who claims CBS News manipulated a 2024 "60 Minutes" interview with Kamala Harris. A mediator has proposed resolving the dispute with a $17 million donation to Trump's foundation and $3 million for legal fees and antisemitism PSAs.

Talks remain fluid, according to the Wall Street Journal. Paramount had previously refused Trump's demand for an apology. One attorney for the former president accused CBS of "election interference and fraud," as negotiations drag on without resolution.
